Reckless endangerment (Episode 1)
Having been on Facebook since 5:18am chatting Akin, liking his comments, commenting on his pictures, reposting his otiose posts, Adebola managed to stand up to fix her chores, she lives in a room self contain so there's much cleaning to do. It is now 6:25am, and although she had woken up early, she glued to her bed, all the while browsing the internet.
This has been her regular routine since the last two weeks. She has been obsessed with chatting random people on Facebook, particularly Akin, she enjoys the attention and flattering compliments she gets and so, it keeps her going. She had been caught in a cyber addiction and though it is not clear how easily she has gotten so desperate, she remembers she couldn't stopped since Akintunde, one of her numerous Facebook admirer who had messaged her couple of weeks ago and appreciated her attractive pictures sent her quite a huge cash.
In Akin words, it's just a friendly harmless gesture because she gave him her time.
He started wooing her from their first chatting, although they haven't met in physical, they planned to meet the coming weekend. She plans on concurring a lie with a fake departmental scheduled excursion as an excuse for to parents. She studies biochemistry in college.
Strolling lazily past the broom at the kitchen door, she headed for the sink, she would like to do the dishes first before sweeping. She turns on the tap as the water pours into the green bowl, she was about immersing the dirty plates into the water and apply then some detergent when she heard a knock on the front door, "Who is that"? she inquired.
Adebola had become more careful about opening her door to anyone without first asking who it was since the crime rate in the hostel areas has increased. Last year, during one of the room inspection activity, thieves had come in disguising as inspectors, threatened the ladies, stole laptops, phones and other valuables. The school student affairs dean and her team who visited after the robbery attack made it a point of duty to educate the ladies about the need for utmost caution and security alertness in their hostels, she told them they were preyed because they were women and perceived as been weak, and in other to avoid future occurrence, their security consciousness should be toppled, the school authority further went ahead to ban visitors from coming into the rooms, visitors can only wait in the common room until the visiting hours are over.
Adebola's room was last on the block and closer to the bush except that it is been demarcated by a weak old white fence that could collapse, the last time the students heard a cry from the other side of the fence, it was a female student that was been robbed.
